Hey there, I’m Dave “The Hammer” Schultz.
You probably know me as one of the original Broad Street Bullies of the NHL. I skated with the Philadelphia Flyers during our back-to-back Stanley Cup wins in ‘74 and ‘75—and picked up a few bruises (and stories) along the way.
Fun fact for your next trivia night: I still hold the world record for the most penalty minutes in a single NHL season—472. The penalty box was practically my second home!
These days, I’m sharing not just the wild tales from my playing days, but also the tougher battles I’ve faced off the ice, including my fight with addiction. My new book, HAMMERED: THE FIGHT OF MY LIFE, dives into both the laughs and the lessons.
